While in Yogyakarta and while my girlfriend was still working on her final project I set myself on a new journey. I grabbed the helm and the scooter that she lend to me for my stay there, pull at the gas station to fill it, and randomly started my adventure.
Most of the times I was not having a destination, but after about 30 minutes I arrived at “ Tebing Breksi”.
Situated in the Prambanan Sub-District of Sleman Regency, more exactly in Sambirejo Village, Tebing Breksi is popular among tourists for its amazing landscapes, most visitors are likely to enjoy sightseeing and photography, and some even take advantage of it for exploration.
Historically it was a mining site, however, abandoned over the passing of time it became an amazing landscape for tourists. With the help of the local government Tebing Breksi had several improvements, a protective fence on the top of the cliff and a beautiful dragon carving.
According to the locals, it was formed due to the volcanic ash deposit of Nglanggeran Ancient Volcano, and the local government conducted mining activity till 2015. Since then instead of being a mining site, it became a new attractive place to spend vacations with the family.
During weekends or regular days, tourists keep coming, no wonder given the fact that the parking area is vast and includes several basic facilities as well as, even restaurants to enjoy some of the local cuisines.
